In the 17th century, the Dutch Colonial Government built Panjang Port with 200-meter long pier, using the construction of caisson with a depth -7 m.LWS along with one unit warehouse with an area of 1,000 m2. Panjang Port evolved into a major port on the island of Sumatera which serves as the lifeblood of economic growth in Lampung province until today

Panjang Port serves ships with many kinds of goods, such as general merchandise, goods in bags, liquid bulk, dry bulk and containers. The flows of container continue to grow each year as the growth in industrial, mining and plantation activities in the region. With the availability of container terminal equipped with 3 (three) container cranes, 5 (five) transtainer, and top loader and supported by specialized bulk terminal that exist today, Panjang Port is ready to provide better service to service users.
