As a professional, independent, integrated and sustainable company, PT Pelabuhan Indonesia II (Persero) always bases its activities on the principles of good corporate governance (GCG). Adherence to the principles of GCG is applied to all company activities, one of which is by compiling an Information Management and Documentation Guideline as evidence of the company's transparency efforts.

Information is a basic need of every person for personal development and social environment. Therefore, the right to obtain information is a human right and public information disclosure. The right to information is very important, because the more open the administration of the state for public scrutiny, the more effective the administration of the state can be.

As a legal basis that encourages information disclosure in Indonesia, Law Number 14 of 2008 concerning Openness of Public Information on April 30, 2010, PT Pelabuhan Indonesia II (Persero) as a Public Body has the obligation to provide and serve requests for public information that are straightforward, integrity and quality.

To carry out information services, an Information and Documentation Management Officer (PPID) was formed who is responsible for providing information services which include the process of storing, documenting, and providing services as well as announcing public information. PT Pelabuhan Indonesia II (Persero) information services are also carried out in 12 (twelve) port branches spread throughout Indonesia.

The Information and Documentation Management Guidelines are expected to become a guide that will assist the Information Management and Documentation Officer (PPID) and all IPC personnel in carrying out the mandate of the Law on Public Information Openness. This guideline contains information classifications, application procedures, procedures for obtaining information, rights and obligations of information disclosure managers and applicant's rights and obligations.
